I believe that in such a fast paced world we need less distractions rather than adding to our already filled plate.  I for one do not need the hassle and inconvenience of resetting my clocks twice a year...just because I can??

I could go on about the history of how daylight savings time (DST) got started.  I could try to explain the advantages of DST. I could tell you how DST affects my appointments when I try to sync my handheld with my computer.  I could fill this page to overload with complaints about DST.   But I’m not here to dampen your day.

Why is it that Saskatchewan understands why we DO NOT need this. I received an e-mail about this very thing explaining it very clearly and I might add precisely:

When an old Indian from Saskatchewan was explained the reason for DST, he replied,

“If you cut one foot off the top off a blanket and sew it on the bottom you still don’t have a longer blanket”

As the 78 record, VCR tapes, crinolines, and monocles have gone so is it time for one of the most wasteful events in the history of the world “Daylight Saving Time”.

DST may have had it’s place before technology, but is rapidly outmoding itself.  Elimination of DST will save millions of dollars in lost time, missed appointments, manufacturing glitches, building machinery with allowances for DST, and most importantly the stress of it all, etc.

I believe the selection of starting work earlier or later should be up to the people and the company that people work for.  I see no need to inconvenience the rest of the world and force them to have to suffer for this very simple choice in life.  Lets be real about this!!!

PROPOSAL TO THE GOVERNMENT OF ALBERTA

We the people of Alberta hereby propose that the Province of Alberta eliminate the adjustment of clocks and time keeping apparatus namely the setting ahead one hour each spring and setting behind one hour each fall in an action called DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.

We propose in the fall of 2009 to set the clocks back 30 minutes and make this Alberta’s Standard Time called MOUNTAIN REGULATED TIME, for all time and not be required to change time pieces ever again to allow for seasonal adjustments.  We request a Bill be drafted to stop this waste of time and rely on your expertise for execution of this Bill.

It is the goal of this site to start the trend to regulating time around the world and reduce the errors inflicted on industry, personal mental health, corporate and individual time keeping, and general inconvenience.
